My Baby
2021
8.5” by 11” drawings on paper using graphite, marker, and ink
4’ by 5’ acrylic on gessoed paper

This project started as a replication of an abstract marker drawing. I recreated the drawing 15 times with graphite on paper to capture the essence of the abstract figure. The work is an exploration of my detachment from and incomprehension of my body.

Sweetie
2020
18 inches by 30 inches
Collaged paper on glass

“Sweetie” is a collage of found mail between my mom and dad when they first started dating, as well as photocopies of Indian textiles. The figures represent some of my earliest memories of me and my sister sitting on the stairs in our house in London watching our parents fight in the kitchen.
